- US file histories in our inventory files - immediate availability
- US files 4712622 to present - average 24-48 hours
- US files pre - 4712621 - average 30 days
Conditions
may exist which will cause additional delays in the processing of your
file history order including (but not limited to):
- Lost
files - require 'Official Search' which is a 30 day search process conducted
by the USPTO. It has been our past experience
that only about 30% of lost files are recovered by the USPTO
- Group/Art
Unit files - files being held in groups or art units take an indeterminable
amount of time to obtain. In many cases,
the examiner is actively working with the file and will not release it
for copying. We have several personnel whoare
group file specialist. These individuals work specifically to obtain
these file types.

the USPTO
- Printed copies - processed and shipped within 24 hours (70% are shipped
the same day)
- TIFF (image only) - processed and shipped within 24 hours
- PDF (image only) - processed and shipped within 48 hours
- PDF (searchable) - process and shipping times will vary according to
file size, first 200 pages - 5 business days (average), every
additional 100 pages add 1 business day
